SMOK built its name on high-power, cloud-focused vaping. The brand's box mods sit at the powerful end of the market, often reaching 200W or more, and pair with large sub-ohm tanks for direct-to-lung clouds.
Design is the other half of the story. From the Alien and Mag to the Species and Morph, SMOK has never shied away from bold shapes, resin panels and, more recently, full touchscreens.
Underneath, a SMOK mod works like any box device: the mod carries the battery, chipset and controls, and a separate tank holds the coil and e-liquid. You will find these throughout our box mods and the wider vape mods listings.
How Much Power Do SMOK Mods Put Out?
Power is the headline. Most of the current box mods run from around 5W up to 200W or 230W, which is plenty for low-resistance mesh coils and big vapour.
That output is driven by SMOK's IQ chipset, in IQ-S and IQ-M versions, firing in as little as 0.001 seconds. An adaptive power feature keeps the output steady as the batteries drain, so the vape holds up through the charge.
Beyond straight wattage, most models add a full temperature-control suite for nickel, titanium, and stainless-steel coils, plus preheat and bypass modes for fine-tuning the draw.
Which SMOK Mod Should You Choose?
The range spreads from compact dual-battery mods to large touchscreen flagships.
#table
Mod: Power and battery: Known for
Morph 2: Dual 18650, up to 230W: Leather-and-zinc flagship with fast IQ-S firing
Morph 219: Dual 18650, up to 219W: A 1.9-inch HD touchscreen and resin styling
G-Priv 4: Dual 18650, up to 230W: Large 2-inch touchscreen on the IQ-M chip
R-Kiss 2: Dual 18650, up to 200W: A compact, no-nonsense high-power mod
The Morph and G-Priv lines lean into big screens and standout looks, while the R-Kiss keeps things simpler for vapers who just want the power. The full brand catalogue, tanks and pods included, sits under SMOK vape kits.
Do SMOK Mods Use Touchscreens?
Some of the best-known ones do, and it is part of what sets SMOK apart. The Morph 219 carries a 1.9-inch HD touchscreen, and the G-Priv 4 steps up to a 2-inch touch display.
A touchscreen makes flicking between modes and settings quicker than paging through buttons. Several models also add small extras like password locking and puff counters on the screen.
Not every SMOK mod is touch-operated, though. The R-Kiss 2, for instance, uses a colour TFT screen with buttons, which some vapers prefer for simplicity.
What Tank and Coils Fit a SMOK Mod?
SMOK mods use a standard 510 connection, so almost any 510 sub-ohm tank will screw on. The natural pairing is SMOK's own TFV tank family, which the brand is famous for.
SMOK coils are tank-specific rather than one universal family, so the coil you need depends on the tank you are running. Always match the coil to the exact tank model.
For a cloud-ready pairing, browse our DTL tanks, and find replacements under vape coils. Sub-ohm setups pair best with high-VG liquid, so our high VG e-liquid is the range to look at.
What Batteries Do SMOK Mods Take?
The high-power box mods here run on two removable 18650 batteries, sold separately. They load through a bottom-hinged door, and most charge over USB-C at up to 2A.
For safety and battery health, an external charger is worth having rather than relying on the mod's port. Run matched pairs from a trusted brand and keep the wraps undamaged.
Carry spare cells in a case rather than loose in a pocket. Pick up batteries from vape batteries whenever you need a fresh set.
How Do You Set Up a SMOK Box Mod?
Getting a SMOK mod running takes a few minutes. Priming the coil first is the step that stops a new one from tasting burnt.
- Drip a little e-liquid onto the fresh coil's cotton, then fit it into the tank.
- Fill the tank and seal it back up.
- Load two charged 18650 cells through the bottom door, the correct way round.
- Set the wattage to the coil's printed range, or accept the mod's suggested start point.
- Let the tank stand for around ten minutes so the coil wicks fully.
- Start with a couple of gentle draws before vaping at full power.
Because these are sub-ohm cloud setups, they are usually filled with 0mg high-VG shortfills. If you want nicotine, add it within the legal strength covered below.
Are SMOK Mods Legal in the UK?
Yes. A rechargeable mod that refills and takes replaceable coils is the reusable format UK rules favour, and it sits well outside the ban on single-use disposables that came in on 1 June 2025.
No nicotine sits in the mod itself. It lives in the e-liquid, where nicotine is capped at 20mg/ml, and bottles are limited to 10ml, so larger cloud shortfills are sold at 0mg. Any nicotine liquid we stock is MHRA-notified before sale.
To put it plainly: a device being legal and compliant does not make vaping safe. These are age-restricted nicotine products for adult vapers, and Pirate Vapes verifies age on every order.
