Worth being honest here, because DTL is not the default for everyone.

What Coils Do DTL Tanks Use?

High VG e-liquid shortfills are the natural pairing. They come at 0mg in larger bottles, so you add a nic shot to reach your strength.

Keep that strength low. Because a DTL draw pulls so much vapour, 3mg or 6mg is usually plenty, and 20mg salt through a sub-ohm coil is genuinely harsh. Nicotine is addictive, so lean lighter rather than heavier here.

Flavour or Clouds: How Do You Tune a DTL Tank?

Most DTL tanks give you two dials, airflow and wattage, and the balance between them shapes the whole vape.

Open the airflow fully and push the power towards the top of the coil's range for the biggest, coolest clouds. Close it down a little and drop the wattage for warmer, more concentrated flavour.

Resistance plays in too. A 0.15Ω coil leans warm and cloudy, while a 0.3Ω runs cooler and tighter. If a setup feels weak, it is usually too little airflow or too little power, not the tank.

How Do You Set Up a Sub-Ohm Tank?

A DTL tank takes a few minutes to get running, and the priming matters more than on a low-power setup.

1. Fit the tank to a mod that can reach the coil's wattage, using the 510 thread.
2. Drop in a sub-ohm coil and prime it, wetting every visible wicking port with e-liquid.
3. Open the top-fill and add your high-VG liquid, steering clear of the central chimney.
4. Seal it and let the coil soak for ten to fifteen minutes. Mesh and thick liquids need the longer rest.
5. Open the airflow wide and set the power near the bottom of the coil's range.
6. Build the wattage up over a few draws until the vapour and flavour hit their peak.

Are DTL Tanks Legal in the UK?
