FreeMax Fireluke 2 Tank

A 28mm sub-ohm tank with 2ml TPD-compliant capacity, built around FreeMax's TX mesh coil series and a wicking formula you will not find anywhere else: 90% tea tree fibre blended with 10% organic cotton

That is not marketing. It genuinely changes how the coil handles heat and flavour clarity compared to standard cotton builds.

Two coils included: a TX2 mesh at 0.2ohm running 40-80W pre-installed in the tank, and a spare TX1 mesh at 0.15ohm rated 40-90W. Slide-to-open top fill, dual slotted bottom airflow, 810 wide bore drip tip, and a 510 thread that fits any regulated mod in your collection.

Fourteen colour options in the store picker. Over 18s only. Browse the full range of Sub-Ohm Tanks at Pirate Vapes.

Why vapers choose this:

  • Tea tree fibre wicking is a genuine differentiator. FreeMax's patented 90/10 blend absorbs liquid faster and more evenly than pure cotton, which means longer coil life and cleaner flavour retention across the final days of a coil's run

  • Two mesh coils in the box. The 0.2ohm handles most vapers, and the 0.15ohm pushes warmer clouds for those who run their mods higher. Both are ready to go out of the box.

  • Slide-to-open top fill keeps things clean. No unscrewing, no threads to cross, no drip tip removal. Slide the cap, fill, slide it back.

  • Fourteen finishes. From understated stainless to graffiti prints, which is more variety than most sub-ohm tanks offer at any price

  • 510 thread with broad mod compatibility. Sits comfortably on anything from a single-battery stick to a dual-18650 box mod

FreeMax Fireluke 2 Tank Features

That Tea Tree Fibre Wicking, Though

FreeMax calls it a 90/10 tea tree fibre and organic cotton blend. Derived from natural tea tree products, the fibre absorbs liquid faster and holds up to sustained heat better than standard cotton.

Your coil stays saturated more consistently at higher wattages, and the flavour does not go stale as quickly towards the end of the coil's useful life. It sounds niche, but once you have run a tank with this wicking, going back to pure cotton feels noticeably different.

Why the Diamond-Pattern Mesh Matters

The TX mesh coils inside the Fireluke 2 use a diamond-shaped mesh weave rather than the standard flat or hexagonal patterns most manufacturers use. The diamond shape distributes heat across a wider, more uniform surface area.

More even heating means fewer hot spots, which in turn means the wicking degrades more slowly and the flavour stays consistent. FreeMax has used mesh coils for years, and this is the refined version.

Dual Slotted Airflow at the Base

Two wide airflow slots sit at the bottom of the tank. Fully open, the draw is loose and airy for a direct lung hit with dense cloud output. Close them halfway, and the draw tightens noticeably.

All the way down, you get something approaching a restricted DTL draw with more concentrated flavour. The adjustment ring clicks into place cleanly, so it does not shift in your pocket. Worth pairing with a High VG Shortfill for the best cloud performance.

Slide-to-Open Top Fill

Push the top cap sideways, and the fill port opens. No threading, no unscrewing the drip tip, no removing the tank from the mod. Fill through the wide port, slide the cap back, and you are done. It is one of the faster refill mechanisms on any sub-ohm tank, and the silicone seal underneath keeps liquid locked in. Messy refills are not an issue here.

360-Degree E-Liquid Feeding

The internal coil housing channels liquid from all directions into the wicking material simultaneously. Not from one side, not from two ports. The entire circumference feeds the wick.

That matters most when chain vaping, because the wick re-saturates between draws faster than designs that rely on gravity and two small feed holes. Fewer dry hits, especially at the higher end of the wattage range.

FreeMax Fireluke 2 Tank Colours

Fourteen finishes. A mix of solid metallic options and graffiti-patterned editions that stand out on a mod. All colours use the same stainless steel and glass construction underneath.

How to Set Up the FreeMax Fireluke 2 Tank

New tank, new coil routine. Give this five minutes, and you will be set.

  1. Unbox and inspect. The TX2 0.2ohm mesh coil comes pre-installed. Check the coil is seated properly by looking through the base of the tank.

  2. Prime the coil. Drip four to five drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton through the top of the coil and one drop into each of the side wicking ports. Spread the liquid across the cotton evenly.

  3. Reassemble the tank. Screw the glass section and top cap back together if separated. Ensure the base is finger-tight on your mod.

  4. Fill through the slide-to-open top. Push the top cap to the side, tilt your bottle into the fill port, and fill to just below the max line. Avoid the central airflow chimney.

  5. Wait a full seven minutes. The tea tree fibre blend needs longer than standard cotton to fully saturate from every angle. Do not rush this. A burnt TX mesh coil is finished permanently, and they are not cheap to waste.

  6. Start at the lower end of the wattage range. Begin at 40W and increase gradually over five to ten puffs. Let the coil break in before pushing towards the upper limit.

What's in the FreeMax Fireluke 2 Tank Box

The TPD edition box includes:

  • The Fireluke 2 tank with the TX2 mesh coil at 0.2ohm pre-installed,

  • one spare TX1 mesh coil at 0.15ohm

  • a set of replacement O-rings,

  • and a user manual.

No e-liquid, no mod, no batteries. You will need a compatible 510-threaded mod and your choice of e-liquid to get started.

The DTL Tank That Fits Any 510 Mod

The Fireluke 2 uses a standard 510 thread, which means it connects to virtually every regulated Vape Mod on the market. Single-battery mods, dual-battery setups, and compact stick-style devices that output at least 40W will all drive the TX coils properly. The 28mm diameter sits flush on most modern mods without overhang.

What it does not fit: pod systems, proprietary pod mods without a 510 connection, or unregulated mechanical mods (the TX coils are designed for regulated output only). If your mod has a 510 connector and can push 40W or above, you are good.

About FreeMax

FreeMax built its reputation on one thing: coil technology. The tea tree fibre wicking formula that runs through the Fireluke 2 is patented, and it was a genuine step forward when it launched.

Before tea tree fibre, most sub-ohm coils relied entirely on organic cotton, which degrades faster under sustained heat. FreeMax's blend addressed that directly, and the TX mesh coil series became one of the more respected coil platforms in the DTL sub-ohm space.

The Fireluke line, from the original Fireluke M through to the Fireluke 4, has been a consistent performer in the UK market. Browse the full FreeMax Coil Range if you need spares.

Stock Up and Save

The Fireluke 2 ships with two coils, but at daily DTL use you will burn through a coil every one to two weeks depending on liquid sweetness and wattage.

Grabbing a five-pack of TX mesh replacements alongside the tank means you are covered for the first couple of months without reordering. A spare Replacement Glass is worth adding too, because bubble glass and hard surfaces do not mix.

All stock is TPD compliant, with age-verified checkout and over-18s only. Pirate Vapes ships same-day before 4 pm in padded packaging. Free Pirate Post on orders over £25.

Conclusion

The FreeMax Fireluke 2 is a proper DTL sub-ohm tank with a wicking system that genuinely performs differently from standard cotton builds. Two TX mesh coils included, slide-to-open refilling, adjustable dual airflow, and fourteen finishes to match your mod.

It does exactly what a good sub-ohm tank should do: deliver clean, consistent flavour at 40-90W without fuss. If you are running a 510 mod and want a tank that earns its place on top, this is a strong option. Pick one up alongside spare coils and Vape Accessories at Pirate Vapes.

FAQs

What coils does the Fireluke 2 use?

The FreeMax TX mesh coil series. The TX2 at 0.2ohm (40-80W) comes pre-installed, and a spare TX1 at 0.15ohm (40-90W) is included. Additional TX coils (TX1, TX2, TNX2, TX3, TX4) are available separately.

What e-liquid works best with the Fireluke 2?

High VG blends. 70/30 or 80/20 VG/PG at 3mg or 6mg freebase nicotine suits the sub-ohm coils and wattage range. Nic salts and 50/50 liquids are not recommended for this tank.

Is the Fireluke 2 TPD compliant?

Yes. The UK TPD edition holds 2ml and meets all current UK regulatory requirements. Over 18s only.

How long do the TX mesh coils last?

Roughly one to two weeks with daily use. Sweeter liquids shorten coil life. The tea tree fibre wicking holds up longer than standard cotton under the same conditions.

Does the Fireluke 2 fit my mod?

If your mod has a 510 connection and outputs at least 40W, yes. The 28mm diameter sits comfortably on most regulated mods without overhang.
