It is the transparent tube that forms the body of a vape tank, sitting between the top cap and the base and holding the e-liquid around the central chimney. Nearly all of it is Pyrex or borosilicate, chosen because it shrugs off heat and cleaning far better than ordinary glass.

Why Does Vape Tank Glass Break?
Drops and knocks are the obvious cause. Glass against a hard floor rarely ends well, and a tank rattling around a pocket with keys is asking for it.
Over-tightening is the quieter culprit. Cranking the top cap or base down hard puts pressure straight onto the glass, and it can crack days later without an obvious knock.
Sudden temperature swings play a smaller part. Filling a hot tank straight from a cold bottle, or the reverse, stresses the material, though this is far less common than a simple drop.
Which Replacement Glass Do You Need?
This is the part that matters, so take a minute over it. Glass is cut for a specific tank, and even tanks in the same family often differ.
- Identify the exact model and generation. A Geekvape Zeus, Zeus X, and Zeus Nano all take different glass, for instance, so "Zeus" alone is not enough.
- Note whether yours is a straight tube or a rounded bubble.
- Match the capacity to your tank's UK spec, which for a nicotine tank is 2ml.

Straight Glass or Bubble Glass?
The two describe shape and capacity. A straight tube runs flush with the tank body, keeping the tank at its standard TPD-compliant 2ml capacity. A bubble (or bulb) glass curves outward.
Because UK law restricts a tank to 2ml when sold, most tanks arrive with straight glass. However, many vapers buy aftermarket bubble glass separately as an accessory to increase that capacity (often to 4ml or 5ml) so they don't have to refill as often. Pick whichever profile your tank was built around, but note that fitting a larger bubble glass will change the outer dimensions of your setup.
How Do You Replace the Glass on a Tank?
No tools needed, and it takes a couple of minutes once you have seen it done.
- Empty the tank and take it off your mod or battery.
- Unscrew the top cap and the base to release the glass.
- Slide the cracked tube off the central chimney and bin it carefully.
- Check the O-rings at both ends. Perished or flattened seals are worth replacing while you are in there.
- Fit the new glass over the chimney, seating it square against the seals top and bottom.
- Reassemble, refill, and leave it a moment to check nothing weeps before you vape.

How Do You Keep the Glass From Breaking Again?
A few habits make a real difference to how long a tube lasts.
Do not over-tighten. Finger-tight on the cap and base is plenty, and forcing them is what quietly stresses the glass. Keep the tank upright and out of pockets with hard objects, and stand it away from the edge of a desk.

Is Replacement Tank Glass Regulated in the UK?
There is very little red tape around a piece of glass. Replacement tank glass holds no nicotine, so it counts as a plain spare part rather than a regulated liquid or device.
The one rule that touches it is the capacity limit at the point of sale. A nicotine tank is capped at 2ml when sold as a complete unit. However, because glass holds no nicotine, larger aftermarket "bubble glass" can be sold separately as a spare part, allowing vapers to extend their tank's capacity legally once they own it.
