Smok Morph 2 Starter Kit

Dual 18650 power, 1W to 230W output, and the IQ-S chipset firing in 0.001 seconds. The Smok Morph 2 is a proper sub-ohm kit for vapers who want serious wattage headroom without stepping up to an internal-battery brick.

Paired with a 2ml TPD-compliant tank, it delivers dense flavour and heavy vapour from the included mesh coils, with Power Mode and full Temperature Control across nickel, titanium and stainless steel. Zinc alloy chassis, soft leather panel, 0.96" display, and USB-C balanced charging. A grown-up Vape Kit built around durability and real control.

Smok Morph 2 Starter Kit 230W Features

230W Regulated Output That Actually Lands

The Morph 2 is built around Smok's IQ-S chipset, which regulates the full 1W to 230W range without the ramp lag you see on some budget dual-battery mods. VW Mode covers standard sub-ohm setups, TC Mode handles Ni200, Ti and SS builds up to 80W, and there is an adaptive power function that trims wattage as the cells drain to keep flavour consistent. Firing at 0.001 seconds feels immediate, which matters more than raw wattage in day-to-day use.

The 0.96" Screen Shows More Than Most

That small screen carries a surprising amount. In VW mode, you see mode, battery levels for both cells, resistance, voltage, wattage, puff counter and puff timer. Switch to TC, and it swaps voltage for temperature and coil material. Two adjustment buttons under the display handle everything. No cryptic menu diving, no submenus buried three deep.

Real Zinc Alloy, Real Leather, Real Weight

The chassis is zinc alloy with a soft leather panel wrapped down one side. That does two useful things. It adds grip, so the mod does not skate off a desk when you set it down. And it dampens the sharp edges of a full-metal build, which matters after a long shift with the device in a jeans pocket. Not the lightest Vape Mod on the shelf, but the heft feels intentional rather than cheap.

USB-C With 2A Balanced Charging

Balanced charging is the important word. The circuitry works across both cells at once and keeps them within the same voltage window, which extends usable battery life over the long term. The USB-C port itself runs at up to 2A, so an emergency top-up before a night out actually gets you somewhere. Smok still recommends an external cell charger for daily use, and that is sound advice for any dual-battery mod.

Comprehensive Built-In Protections

The IQ-S chip runs the 8-second cut-off, atomiser detection, short circuit, overheating, reverse polarity, over-discharge and low battery protections all in the background. When one triggers, the screen tells you exactly what happened rather than just refusing to fire. Diagnostics that make troubleshooting straightforward, which is exactly what a mod at this power level should be doing.

Smok Morph 2 Starter Kit 230W Colours

Eight finish options across the Morph 2 range. Each uses the same zinc alloy chassis with the leather side panel colour-matched to the paint job. The variant lineup at Pirate Vapes may not include every option below at all times, so treat this as the full manufacturer palette.

How to Set Up the Smok Morph 2 Starter Kit

Ten minutes from the box to your first proper pull.

  1. Fit two fully charged 18650 cells into the bottom-hinged battery bay. Match the positive and negative markings on the door. Only use undamaged, wrapped, high-drain cells.

  2. Prime the pre-installed coil with 5 to 6 drops of e-liquid straight onto the exposed cotton ports before fitting the tank.

  3. Fill the tank using the press-and-slide top cap. Press the button below the drip tip, slide the cap, and fill through the port down the side of the coil. Avoid the central airflow chimney.

  4. Screw the tank onto the mod finger-tight. Do not force it.

  5. Rest the setup upright for a full seven minutes, so the wick draws liquid all the way through before you fire it. Skip this step and the fresh coil scorches. There is no recovering a burnt mesh coil.

  6. Press the fire button five times to power on, then start around 80W and step up in small increments until the flavour lands where you want it.

What's in the Smok Morph 2 Kit Box

Inside the retail box: 1 x Morph 2 Mod, 1 x sub-ohm tank (fitted with a TPD-compliant 2ml section), 1 x TFV18 Mesh 0.33ohm coil pre-installed, 1 x TFV18 Dual Mesh 0.15ohm coil as spare, 1 x replacement bulb glass, 1 x USB-C cable and a printed user manual. No 18650 batteries. No e-liquid. Grab a bottle from the High VG E-Liquid selection and a pair of high-drain cells before you get started.

Compatible With Almost Any Modern Sub-Ohm Tank

The Morph 2 mod uses a 510 threaded connection with a spring-loaded, self-adjusting pin, which means it accepts almost any commercial sub-ohm atomiser on the market. Anything up to around 32mm in diameter will sit flush without overhang, so the included tank and the wider DTL Tanks family all pair without fuss. Rebuildable atomisers work as long as builds land inside the 0.1ohm to 2.5ohm window in VW mode.

For the TC crowd, the 0.05 to 2.0ohm range with Ni, Ti and SS wire support gives you serious control. The one thing to avoid: very low-ohm quad-coil builds beyond the wattage envelope, which will trigger the atomiser detection protection.

About Smok

Smok is one of the most established sub-ohm hardware manufacturers in the UK vape market. The TFV tank line, in particular, has shaped how mesh coils and top-fill designs work across the whole category. The Morph line sits in Smok's mid-to-upper regulated mod bracket, above the beginner Novo and RPM pod kits but below the top-shelf Scar range.

The Morph 2 refines what worked about the original Morph with a stronger chipset, tidier UI and better charging circuitry. Explore the full Smok Collection to see how the Morph 2 sits alongside the RPM, Nord and Novo lines.

Stock Up and Save

Sub-ohm kits eat coils, and mesh burns out faster with sweet or dessert e-liquid. Keeping a spare pack of TFV18 coils and a matched pair of 18650 cells on rotation is the difference between a smooth week and an unplanned trip to the shop. Pick up cells from the Vape Batteries section and drop them in the same order.

Every order from Pirate Vapes ships same-day before 4 pm in padded packaging, with age-verified checkout and full tracking. TPD compliant, over 18s only. Spend over £25 and delivery is free with Free Pirate Post.

Conclusion

The Smok Morph 2 Starter Kit is a serious sub-ohm setup at a sensible price point. 230W of real headroom, five output modes handled by the IQ-S chip, a screen that actually shows what you need, and eight finishes to pick from.

If you have outgrown a pod kit and want proper wattage control without moving to a triple-battery brick, this hits the mark. Round it off with a couple of coil packs and a battery set from the Vape Accessories selection at Pirate Vapes.

FAQs

Does the Morph 2 kit come with batteries?

No. The kit ships with the mod, tank, two mesh coils, spare glass, USB-C cable and manual. You will need a pair of high-drain 18650 cells rated for at least 25A continuous discharge.

What wattage should I start at with the included coils?

Both included TFV18 coils (0.33ohm Mesh and 0.15ohm Dual Mesh) are officially rated for 80W to 140W, with a recommended sweet spot between 100W and 110W. Start around 80W and step up slowly.

Can I use the Morph 2 in Temperature Control?

Yes. TC mode runs from 10W to 80W with a temperature range of 100°C to 315°C, supporting nickel, titanium and stainless steel wire builds.

Is the tank TPD compliant for the UK?

The UK version ships with a 2ml TPD-compliant tank. The larger 7.5ml international bulb glass is not sold as the primary configuration for the UK market.

How long does the Morph 2 take to charge?

Around 2 hours in-mod at the full 2A balanced rate with two 3000mAh cells. External charging is genuinely quicker and better for long-term cell health.
