Smok TFV18 Mini Sub-Ohm Tank

Big clouds. Rich flavour. Compact design. The SMOK TFV18 Mini Sub-Ohm Tank is the downsized version of SMOK's full TFV18. 28mm wide, 2ml capacity for UK TPD, and it comes with two mesh coils in the box so you can try both before committing to a full replacement pack.

Pirate Vapes carries all six colour options. The airflow ring adjusts between wide-open lung hits and something tighter if that is more your speed. Top-fill locks with a physical button. Tracked UK shipping and age-verified checkout on every order.

Why do vapers choose this

  • Two mesh coils included. You get the 0.2ohm pre-installed and a spare 0.15ohm in the box. Try both before you buy a full pack of either.

  • Press-button top fill that actually locks. Not a friction-fit cap that slides open in your bag.

  • Three bottom airflow slots. Wide open for a full lung hit, or dial them down for something with a bit more resistance to the draw.

  • Press-fit coil swaps. Pull the old one out, push the new one in. No threading, no cross-threading.

  • Standard 510 connection. If your mod has a 510 pin and enough wattage, it will work.

Smok TFV18 Mini Sub-Ohm Tank Features

Mesh Coils That Actually Deliver

The 0.2ohm coil is a single mesh strip that covers a wider area of cotton than a traditional round wire. Heat distribution is more even. You get fewer hot spots developing on the wick, and flavour stays more consistent through the life of the coil rather than dropping off after the first day or two.

Flat out, mesh coils changed how sub-ohm tanks perform. This is not new technology at this point. But SMOK has been doing it longer than most.

Three-Slot Bottom Airflow

Three large slots around the base of the tank. SMOK calls it a straight bottom-to-top airflow system. Open them all, and you get a very airy, unrestricted lung draw. Close them down and the draw tightens up. The ring turns smoothly enough and stays where you put it, which is not always a given with cheaper tanks where the AFC ring drifts between refills.

Press-Button Locking Top Fill

A button on the top cap. Press it, rotate the cap, and a kidney-shaped fill port opens up. Most standard bottle nozzles fit without making a mess. Push the cap back, and the button clicks into the locked position. This helps stop the cap from rotating open while the tank is in a pocket or bag. Plenty of tanks still rely on friction alone for this, and it shows.

Five Copper Braces on the Deck

Pull the coil out, and you will see five vertical copper braces sitting on the deck. SMOK put them there to make direct contact with the coil base. The idea is more efficient power transfer from the mod to the coil. Whether you notice the difference in day-to-day use is debatable, but they are there, and they are part of the official design. Pyrex Glass and Stainless Steel Build

Reinforced Pyrex glass in a stainless steel frame. It handles High-VG Liquid and heat without complaint, and the occasional knock will not crack it unless you are genuinely unlucky. SMOK includes a spare 2ml bubble glass in the box. Same capacity as the straight glass, just a slightly different shape. Keep it somewhere safe.

Smok TFV18 Mini Sub-Ohm Tank Colour Options

You fill this tank yourself, so there are no flavour variants. Just colours.

How to Set Up the Smok TFV18 Mini Sub-Ohm Tank

The 0.2ohm coil comes pre-installed, so half the job is already done.

  1. Unscrew the base and check for any packaging material left inside the tank.

  2. Prime the coil. Drip 4 to 5 drops of e-liquid into each wicking port on the side. Let the cotton soak it up before you add more.

  3. Screw the base back onto the tank body. Finger-tight. Overdoing it just makes it harder to open next time.

  4. Press the top cap button, rotate, and fill with high VG juice through the port. Do not go past the max line.

  5. Click the cap back into the locked position.

  6. Stand the tank upright for 5 to 10 minutes. This part matters. Skip it, and you burn the cotton on the first draw.

  7. Thread the tank onto your mod. Start low on the wattage and work up.

  8. Take a few short draws without fully inhaling to pull juice into the coil. If it tastes like cotton, give it another minute.

What's in the Smok TFV18 Mini Sub-Ohm Tank Box

One tank with the 0.2ohm V18 Mini Meshed coil pre-installed. One spare 0.15ohm V18 Mini Dual Meshed coil. A replacement 2ml bubble glass tube. User manual. Spare parts bag with O-rings.

No mod. No e-liquid. No batteries. You need all three separately.

The Right Fit for Your 510 Vape Mod

510 threaded. Standard connection. Originally designed for the Smok Fortis Kit, it works on anything from GeekVape, Vaporesso, VooPoo, Innokin, or whoever else makes your mod. At 28mm across, it sits well on most dual-battery box mods and only slightly overhangs on smaller single-battery setups. The full TFV18 at 31.6mm is a different story. This one is much easier to pair.

Coils are for the V18 Mini series only. Press-fit. Seconds to swap. The 0.2ohm runs best around 60W. Good flavour without high wattage. The 0.15ohm dual mesh is the cloud option, running between 80 and 110W with SMOK recommending 90W. Stock up on the Vape Coils collection so you are never caught short.

About SMOK

SMOK has been around since 2010. The TFV4 put them on the map. First sub-ohm tank with quad coils. That was a genuine shift in how the industry thought about pre-built coil design, and the TFV line has kept going through mesh, higher wattages, and better airflow ever since. They also make the Novo pod series, RPM kits, box mods, the lot. Over 200 countries. One of the most recognisable names in vape hardware, whether you rate them or not.

Stock Up and Save

How long a coil lasts depends on what you put through it. Sweet liquids, heavy colouring, chain vaping at max wattage. All of that shortens the window. Most people get somewhere between one and two weeks out of a V18 Mini coil. Could be more, could be less.

Pirate Vapes carries genuine SMOK Stock only. Authorised suppliers, tracked shipping, glass packed so it actually arrives in one piece. Age-verified checkout on every order. TPD-compliant. Over 18s only.

Conclusion

The TFV18 Mini does the job. Mesh coils heat evenly, flavour is solid, and the three-slot airflow gives you enough range to find a draw you are happy with. The locking top fill works properly. The 510 connection fits anything capable of the right wattage. Two coils in the box. Six colours. No compatibility headaches.

Not the flashiest tank on the market. Not trying to be. It is a well-built DTL Tank from a brand that has been making them for over a decade. Pirate Vapes ships it with fast, tracked UK delivery.

FAQs

Is the Smok TFV18 Mini a good tank for beginners?

Depends what kind of beginner you are. Moved up from a pod kit and comfortable with the idea of wattage settings and coil changes? You will be fine with this. It is not complicated. But if you have never vaped before, a pod kit is probably a better starting point. This needs a separate mod and runs at higher power.

What coils does the TFV18 Mini use?

V18 Mini Coil Series. Only those. It ships with a 0.2ohm meshed coil (40 to 80W, best at 60W) and a 0.15ohm dual meshed coil (80 to 110W, best at 90W).

Will this tank fit my mod?

Got a 510 connection? Then probably yes. The real question is wattage. The 0.2ohm coil needs at least 40W. The 0.15ohm needs 80W minimum. The tank is 28mm wide and sits comfortably on most box mods.

How long does a TFV18 Mini coil last?

Varies. One to two weeks is typical. Sweet juice gunks coils faster. So does running at the very top of the wattage range all day. Prime your coils properly when you install them, and you will get more life out of them.

Can I use nic salts in this tank?

Not recommended. This is a sub-ohm DTL tank running at 40W and above. Nic salts are made for low-power MTL devices. Put 20mg nic salt through this at 60W and you will feel it in the back of your throat immediately. Freebase nicotine, 3mg or 6mg, high VG. That is what this tank wants.

Does the TFV18 Mini leak?

Not if it is set up right. Coil seated properly, base tightened firmly, O-rings in good shape, not overfilled. That covers most leak issues. If you have changed the glass recently, double-check the seals are sitting flat.

What is the difference between the TFV18 and the TFV18 Mini?

The full TFV18 is bigger all round. 31.6mm diameter, 7.5ml capacity in the non-TPD version, coils rated up to 140W. The Mini is 28mm, holds 2ml for UK compliance, and uses its own V18 Mini coil series at lower wattages. Easier to pair with smaller mods.

What e-liquid works best with this tank?

High VG. 70/30 at minimum, 80/20 if your bottle allows it. Mesh coils and thick juice go together. Thinner 50/50 blends tend to flood the deck because they wick faster than the coil can vaporize them.
