U-Tech Coil Airflow Design

What Aspire calls U-Tech is a U-shaped air channel inside the coil housing. When you draw on the PockeX, air enters from the top airflow slots, travels down one side of the U-shaped coil chamber, and curves at the base to travel straight back up through the centre before exiting toward the mouthpiece. That path means the vapour touches the heated wire surface twice per draw instead of once. The practical result: you get denser, more flavourful vapour than a standard straight-pass coil produces at the same wattage.

316L Stainless Steel Wire (0.6Ω)

The 0.6-ohm coil uses medical-grade 316L stainless steel rather than Kanthal. Stainless steel ramps up to operating temperature faster, which is why the first puff from a cold PockeX tastes almost as good as every puff after it. The material also has a slightly lower resistance drift over time, meaning the coil performs more consistently across its full lifespan compared to Kanthal at the same resistance.

How to Set Up the Aspire PockeX Coils 

Follow these simple steps to set up your Aspire PockeX Coils: 

1. Keep the device upright: Do not turn it upside down.

2. Unscrew the top cap: Turn the silver cap directly below the mouthpiece counter-clockwise to remove it.

3. Pull out the assembly: The old coil will emerge attached to the chimney section of the top cap.

4. Remove the old coil: Unscrew the old coil from the bottom of the top cap assembly and discard it.

5. Prime the new coil: Add 2-3 drops of e-liquid directly into the top and side cotton holes of the new coil.

6. Install the new coil: Screw the fresh coil tightly onto the metal stem of the top cap assembly.

7. Fill the tank: Pour e-liquid directly into the open tank up to the "Max" line indicator.

8. Reassemble: Lower the top cap with the new coil back into the tank and screw it down firmly.

9. Wait ten minutes: Let the device sit upright for 5–10 minutes to prevent the cotton from burning.

10. Vape: Click the fire button 5 times to turn it on, hold, and inhale.

How long does each coil last? 

7-14 days for most daily vapers. Sweet e-liquids and chain vaping shorten that. Tobacco and menthol profiles are kinder to the cotton. The stainless steel 0.6 tends to last slightly longer than the Kanthal 1.2 at comparable usage.

How do I know if my coils are genuine?

Can I use nic salts in the 0.6-ohm? 

You can, but at 18-23W the nicotine delivery from 20mg salt would be quite strong. 10mg nic salt works better in the 0.6. For 20mg, use the 1.2-ohm coil instead.

Why does my coil taste burnt after one day? 

Almost always a priming issue. You need to drop liquid onto the cotton before installing, fill the tank, and wait a full five minutes before firing. If you skip this step, the dry cotton burns on the first puff and the coil is permanently damaged.
