Aspire Zelos X 80W Box MOD

Up to 80W of regulated output from a single 18650 battery, five output modes, and a compact 37.5 x 24.5 x 83mm frame that sits properly in the hand. The Aspire Zelos X is a straightforward advanced Vape Mod built for vapers who want proper control without the bulk of a dual-battery setup.

VW, VV, Bypass, TC and CPS modes cover almost every use case. A 0.96" TFT colour screen shows what is happening at a glance, and Type-C 2A charging tops the cell up in-device when you cannot swap it out.

Why vapers choose this:

  • Real 80W output from a single 18650 cell, which keeps the device pocket-friendly without giving up power for sub-ohm tanks

  • Five output modes covering everything from beginner-friendly VW to full TC and Bypass for direct battery response

  • 510 threading with a wide contact plate, accepting tanks up to 24.5mm flush and standard 25mm tanks with virtually no overhang

  • Type-C 2A charging at 2 amps, which is genuinely quick and useful when you cannot swap the cell

  • Compact 37.5 x 24.5 x 83mm footprint that shifts easily between a night out and a long shift

Aspire Zelos X 80W Box MOD Features

Single-Cell Power That Punches Above Its Weight

Most 80W performance in the current mod market comes from dual-battery devices. The Zelos X pulls it from one 18650, which is a real design win. You get proper wattage for 0.15ohm to 0.5ohm sub-ohm coils, but the mod itself stays small enough to use one-handed. Battery swaps take seconds if you carry a spare cell, and the internal Type-C top-up handles you the rest of the time.

Five Modes, No Menu Diving

Variable Wattage is the default. Straightforward, works with almost any coil. Variable Voltage gives you finer control if you know what you are doing. Bypass hands raw battery voltage straight to the coil, which mech-mod users will appreciate. Temperature Control covers Ni200, Ti and SS wire builds. CPS, or Custom Power Setting, lets you shape the ramp curve to your taste. Cycling between them takes seconds.

0.96" TFT Colour Screen That Reads at a Glance

The screen is small but genuinely useful. Wattage, voltage, resistance, battery level and puff counter all sit on one layout. TFT means the colours stay visible in bright daylight, unlike the washed-out OLED screens on some competing Advanced Mods. No premium fonts, no fancy themes. Just clean, readable data.

Type-C Fast Charge at Two Amps

Standard USB-C charging tops out at 1A on a lot of budget mods. The Zelos X runs at 2A, which cuts full-charge time roughly in half. Handy when you have twenty minutes between the school run and heading back out. Aspire does still recommend an external cell charger for battery longevity, so pick one up from the Chargers And Cables collection if you plan on running this daily.

Built to Take a Knock

Stainless steel core with a zinc alloy frame and carbon fibre inserts on the panels. Not the lightest construction, but reassuring in the hand. The 510 connection uses a spring-loaded, self-adjusting pin, which means shorter atomisers will not leave a gap and taller ones will not pop the pin out. Small engineering detail. Big quality-of-life difference.

Aspire Zelos X 80W Box MOD Colours

Eight colour options available at launch, plus a Best Colour pick if you cannot decide. The finishes are applied over the same carbon fibre and metal chassis, so build quality does not shift between shades.

How to Set Up the Aspire Zelos X 80W Box MOD

Under two minutes if you already have an 18650 and a tank ready.

  1. Charge or fit a fresh 18650 into the battery bay. Match the positive and negative markings on the inside of the door. Never fit a damaged or unwrapped cell.

  2. Screw your tank onto the 510 threading finger-tight. Do not force it past the natural stop point.

  3. Press the fire button five times in quick succession to power the device on. Five clicks again turns it off.

  4. Press the fire button three times to enter the mode menu. Cycle through VW, VV, Bypass, TC and CPS using the adjustment buttons.

  5. Wait a good four minutes with the tank full before firing, so the coil wicks properly. Skipping this step will scorch a fresh coil and waste your e-liquid.

  6. Start at the coil's lowest recommended wattage and step up in 2W increments until you hit the sweet spot for your setup.

What's in the Aspire Zelos X 80W Box MOD Box

Inside the box you get the Zelos X device, a Type-C USB cable and a printed user manual. That is it. No 18650 battery, no tank, no drip tip, no e-liquid. This is sold as the mod only, which is standard for regulated devices at this price. Pair it with a battery, a tank and a bottle from the Nic Salts or shortfill selection to build a complete setup.

Compatible With Almost Any 25mm Tank or Sub-Ohm Atomiser

The 510 connection with its spring-loaded pin gives the Zelos X broad tank compatibility. Anything from the Aspire Nautilus range on the MTL side through to sub-ohm tanks like the Cleito Pro, Vaporesso iTank or Geekvape Zeus up to 24.5mm will sit completely flush, while standard 25mm tanks sit cleanly with no noticeable overhang.

Rebuildable atomisers work as well, provided the coil builds fall inside the 0.1ohm to 3.5ohm range. What it will not do: 26mm and 28mm cloud-chasing tanks will hang over the edge cosmetically, and the 80W ceiling means very low-ohm dual-coil builds are underserved. For most vapers running commercial sub-ohm tanks, it hits the mark.

About Aspire

Aspire has been building regulated devices since the mid-2010s, and the Zelos line has always sat in the mid-tier sweet spot. The original Zelos launched as a single 18650 mod with a paired Nautilus tank aimed at MTL vapers stepping up from starter pens.

The Zelos X reworks that same setup, upgrading it with a modern chipset, Type-C charging and a clear colour screen. The rest of Aspire's regulated mod range, including the Zelos, the Speeder and the Rhea, sits alongside this on the Aspire Collection page.

Stock Up and Save

An 18650 does not come in the box, and if you plan to run this device properly, you will want a spare cell in rotation. Pick up a pair from the Vape Batteries section and use one while the other charges.

Every order from Pirate Vapes ships same-day before 4 pm in padded packaging, with age-verified checkout and full tracking. TPD compliant, over 18s only. Spend over £25 and delivery is free with Free Pirate Post.

Conclusion

The Aspire Zelos X 80W Box MOD is a genuinely well-considered single-cell regulated mod. Real 80W performance, five modes covering pretty much every use case, a colour screen that stays readable in real conditions, and eight finishes to choose from.

If you want proper wattage control without carrying a dual-battery brick around, this is worth a look. Pair it with a battery, a tank of your choice, and a set of coils from the Vape Accessories selection at Pirate Vapes to build out a full daily driver.

FAQs

Does the Zelos X come with an 18650 battery?

No. The mod ships with a Type-C cable and manual only. You will need to supply your own high-amp 18650 cell rated for at least 25A continuous discharge.

What wattage range does the Zelos X 80W support?

1W to 80W, adjustable in 0.1W steps. Resistance range is 0.1ohm to 3.5ohm, which covers almost every commercial coil on the market.

Can I use temperature control mode on this mod?

Yes. The TC mode supports Ni200, Ti and SS wire, with a temperature range of 100°C to 315°C. Standard kanthal builds will only run in VW, VV or Bypass.

Is the Zelos X waterproof?

Not officially. Aspire lists no IP rating for the Zelos X, so keep it away from direct water contact.

How long does the Zelos X take to charge over Type-C?

Around 90 minutes from empty to full at the full 2A charge rate, depending on your cell capacity. Cell longevity is better if you use an external charger for daily topping up.
