Innokin Jem Vape Kit - Best Colour is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Innokin Jem Vape Kit
This is not a pod kit. The Innokin Jem works differently: it uses replaceable coils threaded into a glass tank, which means you only throw away the coil when flavour fades, not the entire pod.
That alone makes it cheaper to run per month than most sealed-pod systems on the market. Inside the stainless steel body sits a 1000mAh battery and five wattage steps from 10 to 13.5W, so you can dial in exactly how warm you want each draw. At 16mm across, the thing is barely wider than a marker pen.
The 2ml Jem Tank twists open at the mouthpiece for refills, the airflow ring at the base lets you tighten or loosen the draw, and it ships with two 1.6-ohm coils ready to go. Pirate Vapes carries all seven colour options. TPD compliant, over 18s only.
Why vapers choose the Innokin Jem Vape Kit:
-
You swap coils, not entire pods. Flavour gone? Unscrew the old coil, thread a fresh one in, done. The tank stays. The glass stays. A 5-pack of replacement coils costs less than a single pack of sealed pods from most brands, and each coil lasts a week or two.
-
Five wattage levels, not one fixed output. 10W gives you a cool, quiet pull. Crank it to 13.5W and the throat hit jumps noticeably. Most pen kits lock you at a single power level. The Jem lets you move between five.
-
Stainless steel that actually survives pockets. The aluminium oxide coating stops scratches and the body itself does not crack or flex as plastic devices do after a few months of daily carry. There is a reason Jem owners talk about years, not months.
-
Twist the mouthpiece, fill, twist it back. That is literally the entire refill process. Then adjust the airflow ring at the base if you want the draw tighter or looser. Two things to touch on the whole device.
-
Plug in and keep vaping. Pass-through charging means you do not have to stop when the battery gets low. Connect the Micro-USB cable, carry on, and unplug when it is full.
Innokin Jem Vape Kit Features
Five-Step Adjustable Wattage (10-13.5W)
Press the up/down buttons at the bottom to step through five levels: 10W, 11W, 12W, 13W, 13.5W. A small indicator confirms where you are. Running at 10W gives a noticeably cooler draw that stretches battery life. Bump it to 13 or 13.5 and the flavour jumps, but you will burn through liquid faster. Most Jem owners settle somewhere around 12-13W. The range is deliberately narrow because Innokin is not pretending this is a box mod.
Replaceable 1.6Ω Coils with 510 Thread Tank
The Jem Tank unscrews from the battery at the 510 connection. The coil threads into the base. Unscrew the old one, thread the new one in, put it all back together. Each coil gets you through roughly 10-15ml of e-liquid before things start tasting flat. A 5-pack of replacements covers weeks of daily vapingand the cost per coil is genuinely low compared to what sealed-pod users spend. If you want to try something different, the optional 2.0-ohm ceramic coil runs cooler with a smoother draw.
Top-Fill Glass Tank with Drip Window
Twist the mouthpiece off. Fill port right there. Add your liquid, twist the cap back on, done. The glass has a teardrop-shaped window on both sides so you can see how much liquid is left without removing anything. That window sits recessed behind the metal body rather than sticking out, which means the glass is better protected than fully exposed tank designs you might have used before. 2ml TPD capacity.
Adjustable Airflow at the Base
There is an airflow ring just above where the tank meets the battery. Turn it one way for a tighter pull, the other way to open it up a bit. Fully closed gives you the firmest MTL draw the Jem can produce. Partially open loosens things just enough for a slightly airier inhale. Innokin kept the range intentionally narrow here, so even wide open the draw stays within cigarette-style MTL territory. You are not going to accidentally end up in DTL mode.
Stainless Steel Body with Aluminium Oxide Coating
Not plastic. Not basic aluminium. Proper stainless steel with a coating that genuinely resists the kind of scratches you get from keys, coins, and pocket carry. At 16mm wide and roughly 63g, it is among the slimmest metal-bodied vape pens you will find in the UK. The gold accent ring where the battery meets the tank is a small touch, but it gives the Jem a more finished look than most pens in this price bracket.
Innokin Jem Vape Kit Colours List
Seven finishes across the range. Because the body is stainless steel rather than plastic, every colour has a matte, metallic quality to it. The gold accent ring at the tank junction carries through all seven.
-
Black: Classic matte black and by far the most popular. Does not show wear easily
-
Gunmetal: Darker than grey, almost charcoal, with a metallic sheen to it. Looks sharp
-
Grey: Softer and lighter than gunmetal. Blends in rather than standing out
-
White: Matte white against the gold accent ring. One of the more distinctive options
-
Blue: A confident metallic blue that catches light without being too flashy
-
Red: Deep red with a matte surface. Noticeable but not loud
How to Set Up the Innokin Jem Vape Kit
-
Charge first. Connect the Micro-USB cable (included) to the port on the base. You will need to lay the device on its side while it charges. The LED glows during charging and turns green when full. Takes about 60-90 minutes from completely flat.
-
Put the coil in. Unscrew the Jem Tank from the battery. Then unscrew the base of the tank itself. Thread one of the included 1.6-ohm coils into the base until it sits snug. Screw the base back onto the tank body.
-
Fill it up. Twist the top cap off the tank. Squeeze e-liquid down the side of the glass, keeping it away from the central airflow tube in the middle. Twist the top cap firmly back on when you are done.
-
Let the coil soak. Five minutes is enough. The wick inside the coil needs time to absorb the liquid before you fire it. If you want to speed things up, drop a few drops directly onto the cotton before you assemble everything.
-
Screw it together. Thread the tank onto the battery via the 510 connection.
-
Turn it on. Press the fire button three times quickly. The LED lights up to confirm power.
-
Pick your wattage. Use the up/down buttons at the bottom of the device to cycle through the five levels (10, 11, 12, 13, 13.5W).
-
Set the airflow. Rotate the ring at the base of the tank. Clockwise tightens the draw, anticlockwise opens it.
-
Vape. Hold the fire button down and inhale through the mouthpiece. Release to stop.
What's in the Innokin Jem Vape Kit Box
You get the Innokin Jem battery (stainless steel body, 1000mAh, LED indicator) in whichever colour you picked, the Jem Tank (2ml glass, top-fill, 510 thread), two 1.6-ohm replaceable coils, a Micro-USB charging cable, and a user manual. E-liquid is not included. Browse Nic Salt E-Liquids at Pirate Vapes for your first fill.
The Perfect Match for Jem Coils and Any 510 MTL Tank
The Jem uses its own Replaceable Coils that thread into the base of the Jem Tank. Because the battery has a standard 510 thread, you could technically attach any compatible MTL tank if you wanted a different setup.
Jem Coils:
-
1.6Ω Kanthal (included, 2 in box): This is the standard Jem coil. Warm MTL draw at 12-13.5W with organic cotton wicking. Pairs best with nic salts and 50/50 blends
-
2.0Ω Ceramic (sold separately): Runs cooler and smoother at 10-12W. The ceramic element operates at a lower temperature, which gives a different flavour character that some vapers prefer
Both types come in 5-packs and thread into the same tank base. When a coil starts tasting flat, unscrew it, put a new one in, and you are back to fresh performance within a minute.
510 Thread Compatibility: The Jem battery has a standard 510 connection. The Jem Tank is the recommended pairing, but any MTL 510 tank with a similar diameter will physically fit if you want to experiment.
About Innokin
Innokin has been around since 2011, which makes them one of the longer-standing names in the vape hardware space. What sets them apart, honestly, is how long their devices hold up. You will find long-term reviews from Jem owners who are still using the same unit three to five years after buying it.
Their whole approach leans toward build quality and coil technology rather than flashy features. The Jem is the flagship MTL pen in their lineup, sitting next to the Endura range for beginners. Every Innokin device ships with multiple safety protections baked into the chipset. Browse the full Innokin Vapes collection at Pirate Vapes.
Stock Up and Save
Coils are where the ongoing cost sits, and Jem coils are genuinely cheap compared to sealed pod replacements. A 5-pack of the 1.6-ohm kanthal coils covers several weeks of daily vaping. At Pirate Vapes, we carry both the kanthal and ceramic options so you can try both. Everything we sell is TPD compliant, MHRA-notified, and goes through age-verified checkout. Tracked shipping on every order. Same-day dispatch before 4pm. Free Pirate Post over £25.
Conclusion
The Jem does what a pen kit should do: it lets you control the draw and swap the coil when you need to, without making you learn a menu system or buy proprietary pods every week. The stainless steel holds up. The wattage adjustment actually matters at this resistance.
The glass tank fills quickly and does not leak. And because you are replacing a small coil rather than an entire pod each time, the running cost is genuinely lower than what most pod kit owners spend. If you want something that gets out of the way and just works, grab one from Pirate Vapes and pair it with a nic salt from our Refillable Pod Kits collection.
FAQs
Is this a pod kit?
No, it is not. The Jem is a pen kit with a glass tank and replaceable coils. You swap the coil when it starts tasting flat and keep the tank. Works out cheaper to run than pod kits that make you throw the whole cartridge away.
How do I change the wattage?
Use the up/down buttons at the bottom of the device to step through the five levels: 10W, 11W, 12W, 13W, 13.5W. The indicator on the device shows which level you are on.
Can I vape while it charges?
You can, yes. The Jem has pass-through charging, so plugging it in does not stop it from firing. Charge and vape at the same time.
How long does the battery last?
A full day for most MTL vapers, comfortably. The 1000mAh battery at 10-13.5W does not drain quickly because the coil resistance is high and the wattage is low. Heavy users might need to top up in the evening.
Can I use a different tank?
Technically, yes. The Jem has a 510 thread connection, so any MTL 510 tank that fits the diameter will work. That said, the Jem Tank is what Innokin designed this around, so it is the best match.
How long does each coil last?
Depends on what you vape. As a rough guide, 10-15ml of e-liquid per coil before the flavour noticeably drops off. That works out to about one to two weeks for most daily users. Sweeter liquids wear coils faster. Tobacco and menthol are kinder to them.
