TFV18 Smok Sub-Ohm Tank

Thirty-two millimetres wide. That is not a typo. The TFV18 is SMOK's widest sub-ohm tank and it is built for one thing: high-wattage cloud production at 80 to 140W. Two TFV18 mesh coils in the box, a 0.33 ohm single mesh and a 0.15 ohm dual mesh, both rated for the same wattage range but performing differently at opposite ends of it.

304 stainless steel construction, Pyrex glass, press-and-slide top fill, dual slotted bottom airflow, press-fit coil installation, 510 thread. 2ml under UK TPD. If your mod pushes triple-digit wattage and you want a tank that can keep up, this is the one SMOK built for that purpose. Over 18s only.

Why vapers choose this:

  • 80 to 140W output range across both TFV18 mesh coils. This tank is built for high-wattage mods.

  • 32mm diameter with massive dual bottom airflow slots. Maximum air intake for cloud-focused DTL draws.

  • 304 stainless steel body. Higher grade than the standard stainless used in most tanks.

  • Press-fit coil installation. Push the coil in, pull it out. No threading, no cross-threading.

  • Press-and-slide top fill for quick, mess-free refills without removing the tank from your mod.

TFV18 Smok Sub-Ohm Tank Features

32mm Is Wide Enough to Matter

At 32mm the TFV18 is wider than the TFV9 (28mm), wider than the Zeus Sub Ohm (26mm), and wider than almost every other sub-ohm tank in current production. That width is not cosmetic. It creates room for the dual bottom airflow slots to move a serious volume of air through the coil on each draw. If you have ever felt like a 26 or 28mm tank restricts your draw at high wattage, the TFV18 removes that bottleneck entirely. The trade-off is overhang on narrower mods. Pair it with a wide box mod that can handle the diameter.

Two Coils, Same Wattage Band, Different Priorities

The 0.15 ohm dual mesh fires through two layered mesh surfaces simultaneously. More mesh contact, more vapour, more heat. It is the cloud coil. The 0.33 ohm single mesh fires through one mesh surface at the same wattage range but with less thermal mass, which produces a slightly cooler, cleaner draw with better flavour resolution. If you care about distinguishing individual notes in a complex shortfill, try the 0.33. If you want maximum cloud density, the 0.15 dual mesh delivers.

Press-Fit Coils Remove an Old Problem

Screw-in coils have threads. Threads wear out, strip, cross-thread, and get stuck. The TFV18 uses a press-fit system instead. Push the coil into the base. It seats itself. Pull it out when it is spent. The seal comes from the O-rings, not from threading. Faster changes, fewer failures, and no risk of the coil sitting crooked because you threaded it at a slight angle. The Top Fill Stays Shut Until You Mean to Open It

Press and slide. You push down on the top cap and slide it to the side to reveal the fill port. It requires deliberate pressure, which means the cap does not shift open accidentally in a bag, a pocket, or on a desk. Fill with your 70/30 E-Liquid, slide the cap back, and the seal closes. No loose swivel caps, no accidental leaks from a top fill that opened itself.

304 Stainless Steel Is Not the Same as Standard Stainless

SMOK specifies 304 grade stainless steel for the TFV18 body. 304 is a higher chromium and nickel content alloy that resists corrosion better, holds up to heat better, and maintains its finish longer than cheaper stainless grades. At 80 to 140W the tank generates real heat during extended sessions. The higher-grade steel handles that thermal cycling without warping, pitting, or developing the dull patchy finish that cheaper tanks pick up after a few months of heavy use.

How to Set Up the TFV18 Smok Sub-Ohm Tank

  1. The 0.15 ohm dual mesh coil ships pre-installed. Before filling, angle the tank and drip several drops of e-liquid onto the cotton visible through the coil's mesh openings. At 100W and above, dry cotton chars instantly.

  2. Press down on the top cap and slide it open. The fill port appears. Pour in high-VG e-liquid. Slide the cap shut.

  3. Leave the tank upright for eight to ten minutes. TFV18 mesh coils have dense cotton that absorbs slowly on the first fill. This is a high-wattage tank. Cutting the soak time short at these power levels means a ruined coil on the first draw.

  4. Screw the tank onto your 510 mod. Set wattage to 90W. Take a gentle first pull. Work up toward 100 to 110W over the next few draws.

  5. Adjust the dual bottom airflow ring for your preferred openness.

What's in the TFV18 Smok Sub-Ohm Tank Box

  • The TFV18 tank with a 0.15 ohm dual meshed coil pre-installed.

  • One spare 0.33 ohm meshed coil

  • One replacement Pyrex glass tube

  • Spare parts pack with O-rings.

  • User manual.

No mod, no battery, no liquid. You need a high-wattage 510 mod and sub-ohm e-liquid to run this tank.

Built for High-Wattage Box Mods With 510 Threads

The TFV18 screws onto any 510-threaded mod but it is realistically designed for dual or triple-battery mods that can sustain 80W and above. Single-battery mods will run it but drain fast. At 32mm diameter, verify your mod handles the width. Most full-size box mods accept 32mm. Compact or narrow mods will see significant overhang.

The TFV18 uses its own TFV18 mesh coil family. The 0.33 ohm and 0.15 ohm included are the core options. Replacement TFV18 Coils are stocked separately.

E-liquid: 70/30 or higher VG at 3mg freebase. At 100W plus, 6mg freebase may feel harsh. Sub-ohm mesh at these wattages. Do not use nic salts. Do not use high-PG liquids.

About SMOK

SMOK operates under IVPS International out of Shenzhen and has been making tanks since before most vape brands existed. The TFV series (Tank For Vaping) started with the TFV4 and has run through the TFV8, TFV9, TFV12, TFV16, and now the TFV18.

Each generation has pushed the diameter, airflow, and wattage ceiling higher. The TFV18 represents the current upper end of that line. Coils and replacement glass remain widely available across UK vape retail.

Stock Up and Save

Two coils in the box, but at 80 to 140W they do not last as long as lower-wattage coils. Grab a spare pack of TFV18 coils alongside the tank through our Multi-Buy Options for a lower per-coil cost.

Every tank leaves our warehouse boxed with the glass tube cushioned separately to survive transit. Same-day dispatch before 4pm, tracked throughout, age confirmed before anything ships. 18+ only. Hit £25 and Free Pirate Post covers delivery.

Conclusion

The TFV18 is the biggest sub-ohm tank SMOK makes. 32mm wide, 304 stainless steel, dual mesh coils rated for 80 to 140W, press-fit installation, and dual bottom airflow that moves more air than anything smaller. It is not a beginner tank. It is not a compact option. It is a cloud tank for high-wattage mods, and it does that job without compromise.

If your mod pushes 100W comfortably and you want a tank that can actually use that power, the TFV18 is purpose-built for it. Pick one up at Pirate Vapes.

FAQs

What wattage should I run the TFV18 at?

Both coils are rated 80 to 140W with a sweet spot at 100 to 110W. Start at 90W and work up. Below 80W the coils do not heat properly.

What coils does the TFV18 use?

Its own TFV18 mesh coils. 0.33 ohm single mesh and 0.15 ohm dual mesh. These are not the same as TFV9, TFV16, or TFV8 coils.

Will the TFV18 fit my mod?

Any 510 mod, but check width. 32mm is wide. Most full-size box mods handle it. Compact mods will see overhang.

What e-liquid works in the TFV18?

70/30 or higher VG at 3mg freebase. At 100W+, even 6mg can feel harsh. Nic salts and high-PG liquids are not suitable.

Is the TFV18 bigger than the TFV9?

Yes. 32mm vs 28mm diameter. The TFV18 also runs at higher wattage (80-140W vs the TFV9's lower range) and uses a different coil family.

Does the TFV18 come with spare glass?

Yes. One replacement Pyrex glass tube is included in the box alongside the spare coil and O-ring set.
